Xbalanque is a luxury boutique resort situated in Roatán's West Bay area, positioned between West Bay Beach and West End Village. The owners approached me with a specific cultural vision—they wanted to honor the Maya Hero Twins, Hunahpu and Xbalanque, figures from ancient Mesoamerican mythology.

My design solution celebrated this duality through a mirrored visual motif that plays with symmetry while emphasizing the distinctive "X" in the resort's name. The logo captures both the mythological significance the owners valued and creates a memorable mark that reflects the property's luxury. Seeing this identity still in use years later, helping to establish the resort's presence in a competitive hospitality market, remains one of my most satisfying early career achievements.
