Hunters Valley Winery

Role: Art Director & Designer

Hunters Valley Winery is a small farm winery making quality wines in a beautiful spot overlooking the Susquehanna River. The winery is open year round and make a variety of wines to suit most palates.

The Challenge

Revise a heritage logo that honors the brand's history while capturing the spirit of hunting and the landscape surrounding Duccansville. As an alcohol brand, we faced a key restriction: no weapons or armory imagery of any kind. That constraint shaped the entire creative direction, and much of our conversation centered on how to evoke the region's ecosystem — its rivers, mountain ranges, and wilderness — without leaning on the expected hunting iconography.

The Solution

We flipped the narrative. Rather than depicting the hunt itself, I reimagined the hunted as the harvesters — showing them gathering grapes instead of game. The result is a clever reversal that nods to the hunting heritage of the brand while tying it directly to winemaking, all without a single weapon in sight.
